Always keep me down. Except today.
We’ve started year 2 of our homeschooling today. First day of December, first week of Advent, start of summer.
Everyone was excited. We had a start-of-school- party yesterday when temperature peaked at 39 degrees C. No one cared about the heat during the party. They had chips, lollies and soft drinks. They don’t have these junk foods ordinarily so it was a big treat for them.
We made crowns to mark the start of the school year. Boys went around with their shirts off. Eventually, Anton couldn’t take the heat and took off all his clothes. Hard to blame him.
The heat of Sunday extended until early Monday. Then it rained just enough to have a cool change. I never appreciated rain that much before in Melbourne. It was divine. The cool breeze blew away our first day and Monday blues.
I like beginning the school year in December. When the mainstream schools are winding down, we are gearing up. This will allow me to have more downtime when I give birth in April.
I love the flexibility which homeschooling gives.
