It’s my Secret Weapon‘s birthday today.
He should have been enjoying a blissful retirement in the Phils. Hopping around the 7,000 islands, eating at Max and Jollibee.
Instead, he chose to go to Australia to help me with the kids.
24/7 on call.
Isn’t he a saint?
A few lines may have slipped his mouth during utterly stressful times (when the children were all sick or when they were extremely unruly) like:
Hay naku Rea, kahit sinong santo magiging demonyito sa bahay na ito!
Anak ng tokwa tong bata na to!
Kung sa Pinas lang to, nasikaran na ito eh!
But for most times, he is their best friend.
Nowadays you’ll find him hanging out with his favorite, Anton.
Or with his girls, Sasha and Nina.
Or window shopping at KMart with the big boys, Pio and Luis.
Many people can’t help but stop and stare at him whenever he walks the 5 kids around the neighborhood.
He said he wanted pancit canton, fried rice and tempura for his big day.
He’ll have it. We are fully funded by Tita Ann.
Say a prayer or two for my Old Man. He is such a blessing to us.
